As a member of a different generation, a gamer and a frequent Discord user; I can confirm it's not a forum, nor is it intended to be. It's best used as a neo-AOL Instant Messenger type thing. Whereas a forum is better for in-depth discussion with archival ability for searching through old topics; Discord is great for those "Anyone know how to X" type moments. Quick and to-the-point responses. I and many people I know use the discord app and you're likely to get a response from me on Discord just as fast as if you had texted me.
