NSFW Forklift accident

As an aside, bottom phot reminds of something from a star-trek episode where someone could move through materials of various forms...

I have to ask though, what on earth was going on with a fork lift for that to happen? Certainly a good advert for "keep your hands clear at all times".
 
Yikes,- hope it heals up even without a nail you still have a finger thank goodness

sorry for your loss. My nail still doesn't grow right from cutting through it with a razor. I wish you better luck than I have had.
BTW, you should use that pic of your nail for a halloween card.
 
Had a skid of material on a cart, had to get it through a roll-up door.
Skid was 1800#.
using forklift to move to threshhold, fork slipped off plate.
finger got between skid and mast.
Mind you forklift is so sketchy, I will not drive it.
Co-worker was driving.
Co-worker said he will not use it again, unless necessary.
It will fit into the storage shed, the good one is too big.

The culprit is a 50's Yale with a Willy's engine.

I clocked in at 0535, boss had me at the ER at 0600.

You touched a nerve.
I did similar when I was 13 yoa. It made a BIG impression on me and I attribute never doing it again to the first experience. Knock on wood.

Told the boss when I got back to work, " I can only count to 13 7/8 now.................without the police being called....."
