Follower rest ?

Does the follower rest ride ahead or behind the tool? or can it be adjusted both ways? I need to build one for my SB9 ,the factory ones don't look to be offset enough to ride ahead of my tool post. Any pics of your homemade or factory setups would be a help. Their to expensive to buy for all I'll use it.
 
I like that design. I was thinking of staying with the original design but that just changed my whole way of thinking about it. Thanks
 
Here is a simple design I made years ago.
The main body is 1" square stock from the scrap bin.
The screws were made from 1/2" redi-rod.

Excellent ideas, Frank and Terry, and thank you for sharing the pics with us! :thumbzup: Once I get my Heavy 10 back together I may try to make both of those designs. Good stuff there!
 
Doesn't it make ya feel good to take some of the leftover junk we all have laying around and turn it into something useful. Not to mention the money we save to buy more stuff.
