Thanks!DavidR8 recommended a Tormach Superfly Fly Cutter on the Canadian forum. I've had that same fly cutter for a number of years and have been very satisfied with it.

Will the Tormach Superfly work with the R8 collet? Is an adapter needed. Also my mill is only a 1HP is that an issue.DavidR8 recommended a Tormach Superfly Fly Cutter on the Canadian forum. I've had that same fly cutter for a number of years and have been very satisfied with it.

1 HP should not be a problem for a fly cutter, they are really a single point finishing tool so limited to max 0.010 material per pass. Will the Tormach Superfly work with the R8 collet? Is an adapter needed. Also my mill is only a 1HP is that an issue.
Yes. I use mine with an R8 collet. No adapter necessary. Will the Tormach Superfly work with the R8 collet? Is an adapter needed. Also my mill is only a 1HP is that an issue.
If the OP doesn't take you up on the Superfly, I'm interested.I've got a SuperFly I would sell you if you're interested. I'll have to go home to see what inserts I have to go with it but once I do, I can figure out the selling price. Shoot me a message if you want to go that route.
Actually, making one is a very good suggestion and a good learning experience. I also made one that has a higher capacity than the Superfly. Mine uses insert tooling, but fabricating your own is a great suggestion. I added a set screw to allow for fine tuning the angle of the insert (see second photo) - the idea being if I used a toolholder with different style inserts, I could adjust the angle of contact as necessary. (Never used that feature, though.)Make one. I built one that covers 3" and used the 5/16" Silver soldered lathe tool as the cutter.
