This is my first accomplishment in the machining hobby.Got to use the portaband saw, lathe ,mill and drill press.20141006_162307_zps2ecad46f.jpg It goes on my Colt M4 22LR.

Interesting design but here come some questions... Is it your design or a copy of one you saw somewhere? How well does it work? What metal did you use to make it with?

Not a direct copy ,but I did look at a bunch for ideas. It is Aluminum from Online metals, bought there 5lb mystery box.I did not draw plans, just went to work on it.Three pieces of scrap later this is what I got.I have not gotten to fire the gun with the new part yet.I will paint it flat black to match the gun.I'll do a side by side of the original and the new tommorrow.

The 22LR most likely does not produce much Flash, but because of the design of the gun it has to have one.I just recently got into the hobby of machining. Was looking for something easy to make on the lathe and mill.Pulled the factory one off the gun ,made a couple of measurements, like OD and ID checked the thread to see if I had the correct Tap.Then i just had fu20141007_181143_zps41b4b11e.jpgn with it.Took three tries to get it done.

If it gets hot to the touch try grill or high-temp flat black paint. Nice job

That is some good looking work for your first venture in using all of your available tool and getting such good looking results. +1 on the high heat BBQ paint it is less likely to flake. Don't forget to prepare the surface with mild acid like vinegar. That will help the Alli to hold paint much better and longer. Just a couple of thoughts from the peanut gallery, hope they help.

The supressor was fun to make ,and I am thinking of making one for the AR now.
