File Handles

The way I was taught is to start the File Tang into the hole and hit the back end of the handle onto the Bench or something solid. Do this till the File is seated well into the handle. Takes only 3 or 4 good hits. This draws the file into the handle not the handle onto the file. If it starts to loosen just hit the back end of the handle again and it will tighten right up again. I have had 2 or 3 failures maybe. Just my 2 cents worth.

Like I wrote in post #4, the handles where installed when in bought them, so I had no opportunity to do it the first time. I have since done exactly what you suggested, but they still come loose all the time. I resorted to some CA glue the other day, and so far it seems to be working.
