Ferrite metal uses?

There are many ferrite materials. Depending on what type of material and what shapes you have, they may be of some value to a radio hobbyist. Do you know what equipment they were removed from?

Ferrites can be "machined" by water jet. At least that is what the manufacturer I used to purchase from did.

thanks for the information on uses. I've removed them from many items and collected them---I will find my pile of them and take a picture of them. Dave
