Hello All,

I searched the forum and can't find exactly what I am looking for. I have a new to me V13 lathe that will not feed under power. The power feed rod moves correctly (shear pin / clutch) function properly. When the feed lever is engaged, the carriage locks into position (depending on the axis that was selected) but no movement of the table occurs. This is the same for both X and Z axis. Can anybody point me in the right direction? I am assuming the apron is going to need to come off? That looks straight forward, remove the bearing block hold the feed/thread screws from tailstock end of the machine and remove the SHCS holding the carriage to the apron. Anything to look out for?

Thanks in advance

You may find you have to slide the whole carriage off since the half-nuts are (usually) captured by the leadscrew on most lathes
Be sure to support it when doing that- it will be heavy on a V13
