So as promised:

update:
this was the problem,
the damaged part is mine,
the good one i lent from al dutch forum member (https://cnczone.nl)

I mad a design to replace the part an 3D printed that
to verify if it fits and works.

The part fitted nice but there was no room for the thin black shield with te hooks on the corner.
So I tweaked that with some hand milling on the 3D part.

Found some aluminium I had in stock to make the part.

Then I made a "Blank"on my old mini Lathe.

For the next operations I needed a way to hold the work-piece strongly without damaging it.
So I designed one and made it of some off-cuts HPL 20mm.

Please dont mind my poor English ( I was punnushed enaugh for that at high-school)

Next step was to remove the bulk of the aluminum with the fly-cutter:
( looking back, using the band-saw would have been a less messy option )
