I'm not affiliated in any way to the seller and I'm not sure if this is the right section, but I spotted a really good deal on eBay and wanted to share it with you guys.

They are offering a 20" drill press with a starting price of $100. This is the largest "regular" drill press you can buy before entering truly industrial machines. I know I paid $1,200 for a Jet one, just to have the split head design (it allows you to compensate for wear in the quill).

You have to pick it up in Wichita, Kansas.

Again, I'm not affiliated in any way, I'm just hoping one of our guys picks it up.

Since this is a metal working forum I'm gonna say It is just another too-fast, belt drive DP.

I noticed it was made in Taiwan so it might even be a bit better than the modern Chinese junk. For $100 it sounds like a pretty darned good deal. I paid more than double that for my HF drill press 20 years ago.

Not sure about that one but mine goes down to 150 rpm. That's as good as it gets without gears.
Tell me more about your DP.
Does yours have a jackshaft on it - ie a 3rd set of pullys? Or a 1200 motor?
To get 150 rpms out of a 1725 rpm motor requires about a 1 to 11 ratio. That would mean a jack shaft or something like a 2" pully on the motor and 22" pulley on the spindle.

I thought the idler pulley system (3 pulley) had become standard on all but the most basic drill press models?
