I get it that you prefer a real tool to take the uncertainty out of it.
The technique is tricky on a round wheel. I was impressed at how apparently easy it becomes on a belt sander.
I am going to try this before shelling out on drill sharpen machines.

It looks so simple, and seems way easier than what I do at present.
Look hard at the condition of the wheel. Four times is not enough to mangle it. Four hundred maybe! There may be something loose, or not going together right. Your drill should look near perfect, but what you have does not have the right point top, and there are so many facets that it is clear the cut movement is jerky.
