Does your knurling look bad ?

Damn DZ! That is some pretty titanium. What are the spears for? Spear fishing or something else? Looks great though.

Bob

DZ, I don't feel that an apology is neccesary. You do beautiful work. The post was very informative to anyone that has struggled with knurling like myself. I could read an entire chapter on knurling, if it helped me get better at it. Thanks

Marcel

Thank you very much fellas, that really means a lot to me!

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to answer you Bob. The spear is for killing zombies! :lmao: The person who contacted me wanted it 30" long & sharp as hell, the rest he left up to me. I was curious too but didn't ask questions. Later he told me it was for killing zombies!:bitingnails:

Here's the front, rear, & the middle where the 2 pieces join. I carbidized the tips & simulated grooves on one of the points.

Tom just added a vid in his carriage stop series showing the machining for the knurl; as usual another excellent vid.

Yeah, another great video. Just a shame Tom had to turn down the shaft to a diameter that fit the knurl. I guess to do it the other way around you'd need a bunch of different size knurls (or tpi). If I had to have a particular diameter shaft and I only had one knurl, I'd probably have just chucked the formulas and double-knurled it. Just sayin

Interesting though the difference between the drawing dimentions of 1.10 and his knurling dimention of 1.095 probably could not be seen by eye.
