Haha there were a few issues there that my naivete either facilitated directly or stood in the way of problem solving. That strip on its own is a wet noddle string of pinwheels, which certainly doesn't lend itself to holding or organizing a slew of steel, yano with steels gravity and all, but rigidifying that thing in all directions really made all the difference regarding it's usefulness at that task. It was so flimsy and strange initially that I thought it was an old am/FM antenna but it's proximity to the DRO stuff made me guess it was something just entirely alien to me, but anyway, thank you all again

If you intend to use it I would check those pieces for sharp edges

Another stupidly simple design. I'm actually surprised that this hadn't occurred to me, though using steel inside the dovetails is probably not a good idea. Could it have been hung vertically, making the flexibility unimportant? I made mine from aluminum angle, but they were a lot more work and the angle probably cost more than the Simpson brackets.
