Someone took too much time doing all of this for it not to have at least intended function. I got my 'new' lathe in today and I have never used a DRO before, but this was sort of wrapped with the power and data wires...the curiousity/inability to dead reckon and surmise or solve is controlling the little bandwidth left, hah! But I can't wait to hear back from someone!

Hmm...maybe, but if so, I certainly would not recommended recreating it as such, or for anything more than an entirely conceptual springboard. Unless I am 'doing it wrong' somehow, it actually blunders in such a profound way at holding tools or holders that I can't imagine the previous Clausing owner/operator to have the mental wherewithal to do much more than perhaps smirk and chortle with chocolate lined lips as he pet the ways of a machine that his parents actually removed the motor from...
