Decent drill press for metal.

I had the same dream for a looong time.
If you all don't mind me showing it off... I bought this one recently.
Have it bolted to my work table for now but that screws up my table for other purposes.
Now I have a dream of finding a suitable column for it.
I'm sure I will someday.

That's right, show the starving man pictures of your lobster dinner when he asks for a sandwich.

I contacted them and they responded with a quote for the 15" model.

If you want a floor standing one with Baldor motor and slow speed attachment, you are up around $9000 plus shipping and any taxes.

For a US-made arbor press, I paid 4x what the cheapest equivalent import one cost. I can't say it works any better, I was happy enough to spend the extra for "feels." But in the drill press world, it looks like 4x isn't a good-enough rule of thumb! More like 10x here. I wish I could justify $9k for this, but I can't.

I think you'll be happy with a Harbor Freight model. As pointed out above a drill press just isn't a precision tool. Save your money and buy good drillbits.
