I got an "item damaged in warehouse",and so did several other forum members when they posted 12 files for the price of 1. They did that for several different files, and the same price was up for many days. The files were TRULY USELESS Mexican made Nicholson files. They look beautiful, but are so soft you can easily file them to way below their tooth line with an old USA made Nicholson. Somehow, the Mexicans do not know how to prevent the files from decarbing.
I advise all of you to NEVER BUY Mexican Nicholson files. As bad as it sounds,I bought several Chinese files from Harbor Freight. They were pretty well made, and quite hard. They only had files coarser than I like, but they were only $2.00. I know they make finer cut ones, but the fine cut one was only available in a set of files I did not want to buy.
IF you examine the edges CAREFULLY,you can get a decent and VERY sharp ceramic kitchen knife from HF for about $6.00(?) Be sure the last 1 1/2" of the tip end is ground all the way to a V edge, though. Hard to see as the knives are white. Go by feel. The ones I picked out were just as sharp as more expensive ones, and made of Zirconium oxide like the others. NEVER BUY stainless steel knives coated with ceramic. The ceramic is sharp enough to shave hairs, and it breaks off the cutting edge VERY EASILY. Then, you swallow it. Those knives should be banned. HF does not carry those. Woodcraft does.
