I have both an abrasive chop saw and the harbor freight style 4x6 horizontal band saw.
The chop saw excels at tubing. When building a tube frame dune buggy it is my go to.
For solid stock and structural shapes it works, but it really slows down. Also does hardened steel that the band saw cant touch. You can't push too hard, have to keep the rpms up.
Did I mention it is really LOUD and throws dust and sparks EVERYWHERE.
If I could only have one I would take the band saw and toss the chop saw in the skip.
