Correct head shape for the ball turning HSS bit

Having the relief groove on the spindle side of the stock still will not let radius swing around enough to make a ball shape. Email me your phone number and I will walk you thru how to make your tool work.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!
I just round this junk stock in 3 passes!
I re-ground my HSS bit to have a round nose with a bit of back rake and voila. The top part that's ground down is just to get the cutting edge to centerline.
This is incredible. What a difference a newly grounded shape makes. Now on to making a better swinging design like Jim Sehr's.
