Hello. Edited: I have found this topic
https://www.hobby-machinist.com/threads/diy-electropolishing.68689/
So I'll going to try this.
I'm brazing some 304 SS parts. I'm using rods made of 60% silver, 30% tin and 10% copper. I just heat the base metal hot enough to melt the brazing rod. I don't know what flux I'm using. I just know is white powder and it is suitable for Copper, steel, SS and silver.
The question is that after finishing the weld some parts gets grey o dark grey. Is not the flux, I think is something related with the heat. How can I clean it?
Not sure if is some kind of oxide layer. This parts is going to work under high vacuum and oxide is not good for that.
I tried soaking in diluted hydrochloric acid, rinsing in water and dry it and it seem to work a bit, but not sure, because I leave inside the acid just for 3 minutes. But I want to do it properly but not elaborated because I just need it this time. Any advice?
Thank you
Best regards
