Hello,
I need some round cast iron that can fit in the throat of my mini lathe chuck so I don't waste chunks trying to make smaller pieces. All I can find is 1 1/4" and larger.
Tried McMaster-Carr, Amazon, Online Metals and a few others.
Is there any supplier that has 1/2" - 5/8" cast iron round stock?

Michael.

I've never seen dura-bar smaller than 1".

Website says .625" is possible in a few grades if you include ductile iron, but it's a non-stocking product.

You'll probably have to start calling places in the morning to see if anyone has any.

Maybe give Dura-bar a call & see if they've made/shipped any to any of their distributors even remotely recently.

So the same with other manufacturers. (Sorry, can't help you there, I've only dealt with Dura-bar)

I've seen 5/8" G2 listed as a stock size so I'd just call Dura-Bar.

I think I've suggested before, but maybe on a different forum: reach out the PM Research (and others who provide castings for kits) and see if you can get it from them.

Good luck with your hunt!
