Wow - you routed metal with a woodworking cutter!
Regardless the cutting angles that might, or might not, be different than for one intended for milling steel, clearly the trick works!

I had read elsewhere that others had luck with them so I decided to try. I did make a point of getting the 1/2 in. shank. It was very reasonable compared to a hss milling cutter and left a beautiful finish. I have another on order.
