Carbide Inserts not lasting long, what am I doing wrong?

There could be a college course on carbide inserts. It's a confusing, very cerebral endeavor.

It’s also a fast changing subject, we use to order inserts from Valenite, you would try to reorder, only to be told they were discontinued, superseded by a new part number, 5 to 6 months later, the process started all over again

Went up to 2000RPM

I should run my inserts faster. I hesitate because chips go over my shoulder.
