I was just looking at another FTV-2 mill in my area . Great condition and very fairly priced . I told him if it was still available after New Years I'd be interested . ( hopefully no more machines in the garage and the basement is cleared out )
FWIW, I am very happy with mine so far. Factory scraping still visible on all ways. I added a TouchDRO-based 3 axis DRO to it. Pretty solid machine. I use Bridgeport Series I machines 20 years ago in college and this feels a bit more stout. I stuck a 10ths test indicator on the spindle earlier today and had maybe 1-2 tenths runout. Oddly, the R8 taper had quite a bit more than that, but with a gauge pin in a collet, indicated towards the top of the pin, it was much less. Not bad for a machine from 1985.
