Finally got this thing onto my patio, and now begins the long process of getting it up to speed. Unsure if it actually runs or not, the guys I bought it from said it ran but it's been sitting in the shop unused for 10+ years. Purchased it for $2,000, but I've also had to pay some more money to get it where it is now as well.

I'm just trying to clean it up, and get the quick-change spindle addressed (can't get it to attach to my tool holders). Once I have power running to it, I'll most likely be posting here often to help me figure out some of the issues I'm likely facing. Long-term I would love to fully restore this to all original, that is my ideal. If you have any feedback or anything, please feel free to DM or comment! :D

I imagine you’ll want to put up some kind of shelter around/over it. Even the best climates don’t agree with machine tools outside.

Nice looking machine though.

John

Congratulations on your new machine. That's going to be a nice project. That table looks big in the pics. How long is it?

Nice grab! That warrants a " you suck " comment.

I just recently got a series 1 with the J2 variable speed head. I had to tear in down and go thru it all as it hadn't been maintained well, but got it for a good price.

Nice! I really wanted to get a series 1, but after I found out they had a series 2 just sitting I couldn't pass up the opportunity.

Those series II are massive. You could machine a series I with that...
This and that.

This it’s huge.

That, that it is even bigger that our series II.

Looks nice- I presume you want to get a RPC to power it?
That would allow keeping all the electrics as is
