Benchmaster mills - upgrades

Thanks for that offer. A few months after my post I was able to find a spindle, pulley and motor mounting bracket, so I no longer need a drawing. There is a parts diagram on one of the links on this forum which you could probably use if you wanted to disassemble your spindle. Thanks again
So given you've made some progress with your babies, how about some pics? :)

We all love pictures of old, good machine tools, especially old, good benchtop mills, them being uncommon. ;)

Im a recent benchmaster custodian

i have a vertical and a partial horizontal

has anyone built speed reducers for either and willing to share details?

anyone built a height extension for the vertical to allow for tool holders/rotary tables?

anyone built taller arms for the arbors for the horizontal?

im currently working on a dro for the vertical and will end up doing the horizontal if it works out.

would rather not reinvent the wheel if any of these have been done. Would consider runs…. If people interested in what may end up being made

lets share. These are my two siblings

Hi Kevin,
I have attached some photos of my horizontal Benchmaster. Overall in really good shape. It is the production model but I would rather have the standard model but the price was right a few years ago. The dayton motor is two speed and with the two step pulley gives me 4 speeds. I would be interested in any upgrades you have made to yours.
