Banner day at the sales yesterday.

Believe it or not (I found it odd) the part I was calling the generator (though it may also serve this purpose) is a called lead filter for using leaded gas.

I wasn't aware that there was a filter that could remove lead from leaded gasoline.

Sounds from this article, its possible they didnt want the lead buildup to prevent preignition from hot spots.

That makes sense; I had forgotten that they were 4-cycle, too.

That’s what a few references I’ve found are calling it.

Speculation is it is similar to a catalitic converter, others surmise it’s just a larger generator designed to last longer before becoming plugged with lead deposits, which I guess would make it a filter of sorts?

Additional reference in this thread to a military manual calling it a filter.

A little oiling of the pump cup, some gasoline and we had fire. Thankfully it even came with the instructions sheet as it has a different lighting procedure than what I'm used to

This page has it made by AGM or Queen stove works (pre Coleman ?)from around the late 50s to early 60s.

More stove info citing above page stating mid to late 50s manufacture.

beautiful scale and beautiful camp stove.
The scale would have been nice when I was competing in Soaring, everything got weighed to keep weight to a minimum, I prefer those balance beams to electronic scales.

Yeah, I’ve used one for years and prefer them.

I wanted to go digital for modifying mini heli parts to bring weight down, but to buy something digital that is as accurate and goes to tenths of a gram (hundredths?)would cost more than I want to spend.

I have $5 for this and figure in an hour to detail it.

Funny thing is I went to look for my old one that i refurbed decades ago and can’t find it.
