Alternatively, you can buy a shop made arbor for around $250 on eBay. 3D printed eccentric handles are available on eBay for about $40.

The gear box is more difficult. Used ones are expensive. You might be able to repair yours or fabricate your own. It will be a project. Operating the x-axis by hand is not optimum. The surface finish will suffer and your hand will get very tired.
 
Another question about the milling machine. I’m missing one of the Gits oiler caps for the spindle. I ordered and received the new ones from Flywheel supply. The new oiler caps came with felts. The cap that is still in the spindle doesn’t have a felt. Did they have felts in them when they were made? Or did only certain machines, ie the 618 lathe spindle use them?
