Atlas 24" Scroll Saw - #4003

This is an old thread, but so is the Atlas saw I have what looks like the same unit, that I bought at a thrift store.

What I'm wondering is if this can be converted into a Die Filler?

Maybe a longer throw? Holder? I only recently had this idea pop into my head, this thing needs some (just a little) TLC.

The manual listed in post #5 talks about mounting files on page 4. I have one of these saws also that I picked up for 50$ at a Thrift store several years ago. I bought it for cutting out wood stocks for my tracer, just have not got a Round-To-It yet.

I have the Atlas 4020 ... I found the manual and yes, it does support 1/4" files... great! Thanks!

I would like to use it for contour sawing metal.

The machine you have is nice, they do not make them like that any more.

My wife has an 18" Porter Cable and she uses it for Wood work, below photo is her stuff....
