Also, are the keys for these chicks a weird size ot metric?
It's smaller that 3/8 and larger than 1/4" and I have a heck of a time getting it tight with a ratchet and short extension.\ as I do not have a key for it.

Making your own keys would provide the best fit. A fit that is too sloppy is hard on the chuck and not good for the key.
Could you just grind the end of a long 3/8 drive extension to a good fit?

I do have some short pieces of 3/4" square I could use also.
Would be easy using the mill then drill a hole in the other end for a handle.

I'll pick up that 4 jaw soon as I get a chance to get over his way.
The fellow also has a 9A like mine (an auction purchase) as well that he is going to flip when he gets it cleaned up and operable.
