Anyone ever upgraded a PM1030V to a 1.5HP motor?

I have people ask for something like this from time to time. Bookmarked.
 
Are you still able to dial down the RPM's as low with this new upgraded motor and controller? Did you end up using the G-4000 kit, or a different upgrade kit?
 
The low speed pulley is a 3:1. The webpage says not to run the motor lower than 300RPM. That gives a 100 RPM minimum on the spindle. I can live with that when combined with the brake capability (single point threading).
