I see a tong of 2x72 belt grinders, and plan to build one eventually. But I kind of want to build a 4x90 belt grinder first. I think it would be more useful with the type of work that I do. I've even thought of doing a 6x48 type build, as I have a ton of those belts. Has anyone made anything cool they can share pictures of?

Hi I built about 35 years ago and still using a 2X72 grinder, it works very well. I used aluminum I-beam for the structure and a Grizzly wheel for the main drive on pillow blocks, I used an old coil over shock off a motorcycle for the tensioner, there are 2 more hard wheels about 2.5 inches in diameter one at the top that has a radius forming a triangle for tracking. the back wheel has a yoke that is at one end of the shock that loads the belt when a lever is flipped. the belt can be changed in less than 30 seconds

Wish I'd had this a long time ago.
