Another pretty good deal (I think)

Nice little portaband. I've heard they come in handy, never used one though.

I paid $ 50.00 for one like Charley's. Mine has not seen as much use as his tho. Very handy when the chop saw is not appropriate. Plus there is less dust & a smaller kerf with a PortaBand Saw.

Got a smaller Milwaukee portable bandsaw (cordless). Gets plenty of use outdoors in Summer with installation work.

Grinders throw sparks and around here in the warmer weather thats a no no. Worth every dollar.

Drawback is it doesnt have a very large cut area, but usually it only does 12 mm (1/2 inch) solid round.

I bought one new in 1990. It was pricey even then. I have used it very much and you would think it was new. I take care of stuff. It pays you back. I keep it in the well designed case. I was in the Antique Home Restoration Business then and I would make 1" round stock bolts up to 30+ feet long with turn buckles and pulled many an old Barn back together by threading the stock and making repair hardware. A really great tool. It cuts steel like butter.
