As of today, I will have been on this big ball of rock for 50 years. A half century...

It's been an interesting 50 years... I've done a lot of interesting things... I've seen a lot of interesting things... been a lot of places... had a lot of experiences...

I think my biggest accomplishment was raising two wonderful daughters and being able to support them and my wife... all while managing to keep several expensive hobbies funded and (hopefully) setting us up for the retirement years.

However... every birthday always results in thinking about my sister. She lost her battle with breast cancer 13 years ago... she was 39 years, 3 months, and 17 days old. I miss her a lot.

I consider every day above ground to be a blessing... my sister never had an opportunity to grow old.

Anyway, thanks for letting me ramble for a minute...

Happy birthday

I've been here 55 years and am hoping for another 50 or so, but I know what you mean. Someday I feel like I have plenty of time left then I see a seemingly perfectly healthy person shuffle off at 50 or 60 and feel like maybe I'm on borrowed time.

I hear you, Aaron, I am now 78, and all too many of the folks that I grew up with are passed.

Happy birthday Bear. Sometimes the best way to honor those who are no longer around is to live a good life and remember them... sounds like you are doing a good job of it.
