A Bicentenial restoration/rescue - '76 RD400

jonesn7, you have a good attitude. if the settlement is fair, & you are (somewhat) OK, just be done with it.
I sure am sorry about your bike, you put a lotta work into it. Hopefully someone will be able to use some of the parts, RD’s are cool bikes, my son had a early RD350.
Bone Head, nice rant. I’ve been riding since i was 14, I’m 75 now & still ride.
IT’s a different world now with folks texting, etc, etc, not paying attention, it’s not safe riding a motorbike anymore. Mores the Pity….

After my wreck, I got a lawyer. After investigating, they told me that there wasn't a clear path to any money. The driver had crap insurance, so there wasn't much of anything there, and there are laws to protect (offenders) property. I don't know all the details, but it's a screw job, and you are not going to get any real money unless the offender has a deep pocket insurance policy.

And FWIW, after going through this experience, I jacked my own insurance way up. If for some reason I hurt someone, I want there to be money to take care of them.

Turns out, the shoulder didn't rehab to my satisfaction. Will have it surgically repaired in September. Before that, I will undergo robot-assisted radical prostatectomy. What a fun summer I have set up!
