Controlled might be a bit generous when talking about this thing. I'm likely going to use a lift assembly from an old treadmill I salvaged, replacing the existing 9" screw with something longer. I'll have a measure of control, but it won't be precision and it won't be during operation (milling function) if that's what you're asking.
The main point is to save my back AND prevent the table from dropping to the floor if I don't have a good hold on it.
