lol. Funny, but probably not true. The expression "the whole nine yards" has been attributed to this, and also to 9 yards being the volume of a cement truck, but it probably dates to long before this. Being of Scottish descent, I was taught it related to the Scottish great kilt, which when made properly took 9 yards or fabric. But it may also relate to the old British 3 mast sailing ships, which had three yard arms each, so the phrase "the whole nine yards" meant they had set out all the sails for maximal speed.
