I guess I'm the outlier. I had several Triumphs and didn't suffer from electrical any more than other cars. It might just be that I started out rewiring a Suzuki TS125 when I was 14. Electrical hasn't bothered me much since then, might just be some folks first introduction was with British cars....

Did you ever ride one of them? :)
I've owned a couple early on. Met my first wife on one, when she passed me on the road flying. With no lights. Caught up with her when her bike died. Love at first broken wire.

I had a shock job like that. 3 were replaced without a problem. The fourth one took all day. Welds on the nut to the frame broke and couldn't get a wrench in there.

After trying everything, ended up using the blue wrench. Had to drill the shock to release the oil and nitrogen, that squirted oil everywhere. As you might expect, the oil was ignited by the oxy-acetylene flame. Then the undercoating started to burn. Got a little exciting for a bit. Took a couple of seconds to process what was happening, you know that moment when you think to yourself, what the heck do I do now? Dragged out the CO2 fire extinguisher and put the fire out in under 15 seconds. Fortunately, the extinguisher was less than 10 feet away. I have two extinguishers in the garage - just for fun times like that.
