Got the plastic bushing in, it wasn't fun remaking it, after I parted it off and trimmed out the spot for the key, it didn't fit on the shaft and in the pulley. Had to shave a few thou outta the pulley, but maaaaaaaaan what a difference, you can actually talk on the phone while the mill is running. I still think I'm gonna just replace the pulley but from now it's working.

Last time I rebuilt a bridgeport head it had Rulon bushings in the pulley. Rulon is the trade name for a family of PTFE plastics. Rulon plastics are known for their low coefficient of friction, excellent abrasion resistance, wide range of operating temperatures, and chemical inertness. Common applications for Rulon include seals, piston rings, bearings, and electrical insulation

Rulon, aka Fluoroloy, is an excellent electrical insulator and a pretty good thermal conductor. We use it in RF / microwave equipment. It is Teflon loaded with boron nitride.

"On vacation" means different things here.. So do you mean "on vacation" can work in my shop more or "on vacation" not working in my shop now? Both ways have a good and a bad to them..

Just a deep cleaning. It had 4 layers of peeling paint. Every time I opened the door paint fell off.
