1022V Concentric Circles when Facing? Loose gib?

My money would be on bent cross slide screw. The X axis screw on my mill is slightly bent and I get the exact same issue. One way to test is to figure out the pitch of the screw and measure the peak to peak (or valley to valley) distance of the bands. If it's a bent screw then the distance should equal 1/pitch.

Reviving an old post because I forgot to. Just wanted to put the info out there that it was the cross slide screw. I hate when people never give an update so figure it's better late than never.

I had got a new one from PM and the issue went away. The old one has the slightest bend you can see chucked up in the lathe or drill.

Had to get a little creative drilling a new roll pin hole on my lathe since it came virgin. There was a slight discrepancy with the length of the new cross slide screw and had to make a new end cap for the handle.

Otherwise dealing with a dead electronics issue on the 1022v at the moment and just remembered this post.

Thanks for posting the cure. This really helps the overall usefulness of this site. Many just search for similar problems rather than start a new question thread. Many of the guys were right in their guesses.
