A friend dropped his bike when it was on a front stand without wheel. So the lower part of the fork leg was broken. I gave it a try and it went better than I thought it would.
The ends where the parts separated was chamfered down into the axle hole. The reason was to be forced to TIG weld well into the axle hole. The sides where then milled and the hole was grinded and honed.
