Wiper inserts

I came across the term "wiper insert" at a Sandvik site, apparently for improved surface finish. Mitsubishi's site shows how the corner radius is modified.

Anyone have some experiences with these they can share?

Is a wiper usually included in a carbide insert, or do you need to spec them explicitly?

It is specified in the number of the insert.

I'd be skeptical as to how well they would work on light duty machines. It would have a wide flat on the corner, which might cause chatter.
