Where can i find old (vintage) lathe near North Carolina?

Hello Everyone,

I am new to both machining and this forum and i am learning a lot from all the great information here, I keep hearing people on youtube and forums saying they found these military surplus or old tools in auctions, i did search google but i couldn't find any such places near NC. How can i find any such auction near NC? Please advise.

Here is todays craigslist from Charlotte NC with search for “lathe”

Not an auction but they state a price and you could bargain down from that price.

Can be worth doing that search for all the local cities and see what comes up. No matter what you will need a truck or trailer so a radius of a couple hundred miles is not bad. Decide on the cities you would go to and check daily to see what turns up.

Another auction next week up in Concord. A nice sized Clausing lathe in one of the lots. I have been to their auctions before.
