What size wheel does this surface grinder take?

My grinding mentour warned me away from ruby stones, but I tried one eventually and was won over right away. He told me it would burn my work, but I never had that problem.

Thanks @woodchucker for the chart!
glad you tried it. Because we are all told things, many will wind up being true, but occasionally even our idols, mentours , etc... will get something wrong. We all have preconceived notions, bias's and sometimes we need to challenge them.

I'm sure he had a bad experience on ruby wheels that are vitreous bonded about 50 years ago. His advice was 30 years ago, and repeated many times after that, long after I started using ruby wheels.

@woodchucker ,Thanks for the chart and info. Where did you get the chart from? I got a bunch of white stones with my grinder and now I see they recommend .001" per pass. I've been taking too much.
