What material to make thick motorcycle carb spacer / isolator.

Thanks Aukai. Good report. As I stated in the original post- I was not wanting to machine phenolic if there was a decent alternative. I was looking at alternatives I had heard about. There may not be.
I know for me - the hockey puck is a negative. I left the bottom half of it soaking in the gasoline. It had swollen quite a bit.

Plywood works and Bakelite can work as well.

I think aluminum would be your best bet. We all know it's impervious to gasoline
