[Newbie] What do you think that this is for?

Hey guys,

This had been kicking around my shop for years. I have no recollection of where I got it, or what it is for. I am throwing this out to you as a community for two reasons. 1. Morbid curiosity regarding it’s identity and use. 2. If it is the “missing piece” to someones machine, set, or collection, I am looking to move it along (and off if my already crowded bench). The only markings are “Made in UK”. Dimensions are in the photos.

So as I sit here on my dock enjoying a nice cup of coffee I throw out a very good Saturday morning to you all and look forward to hopefully finding out what this is, what it is used for and where it will be going to next, lol.

Don't know the answer for you.
Maybe you could slice pieces off the end and glue on magnets for Darth Vader fridge magnets. Lol
I like those Fast Cap tape measures. I buy those for the guys in the shop only in metric.

I asked for 2 of the tapes for Christmas. SO handy. Lee Valley Tools sells them here in Canada. Probably going to see about 2 more this year. I find that I use them all the time. Cheers Martin.

I agree with AGCB97 it Looks like a press brake die.

No press brake dies don't mount with bolts from the bottom. plus if it was the v cuts on the side would serve no purpose

maybe there were magnets screwed on so it could be held in vice jaws with another missing part to make a small angle folder.

I totally agree. Plus, it’s not supported totally along the bottom. And down force in the middle and it would just break.
