Just when everyone plus myself thinks Dave has way too many unique items--his friend brings him a couple more to restore that even I am thrilled to get---(I asked him how much for them and he said they are now mine) --one is an optical lens drill press and the other is an optical lens machine---they are American Optical Company--Southbridge Mass USA--model no. M540-C--ser no. B1986 --the press is model M941--ser no. O 958--110 volts 100 watts--they are sure very very heavy for such small machines--just wondering if any other member has either of these--they are sure neat old iron. hope you enjoy seeing these--DaveDavids machine pics 6-30-2013 003.jpgDavids machine pics 6-30-2013 009.jpgDavids machine pics 6-30-2013 008.jpgDavids machine pics 6-30-2013 007.jpgDavids machine pics 6-30-2013 015.jpgDavids machine pics 6-30-2013 005.jpgDavids machine pics 6-30-2013 004.jpgDavids machine pics 6-30-2013 002.jpgDavids machine pics 6-30-2013 001.jpgDavids machine pics 6-30-2013 006.jpgDavids machine pics 6-30-2013 014.jpg

Those look like some fine old machines. Do you plan to restore them?

Walt

Very cool, very, very cool, Dave. They will look great all freshly restored. Looks like they are all there too. Oh, and you have some really great friends.

Yes Walt--I do plan on restoration--the drill press first because I can use it for my tiny drilling and the side arbors for my dental tools--I have an enormous collection of dental type tooling and I must get my bench all organized to use them. --the other machine is really going to be fun to see what it can do with all the gears and mechanisms it has--it was definately quality made--I'm waiting for some other members to let me know that they also own these, and show pics, and explain their uses.---Dave--* Walt, what machines do you collect and work with? --other members interests always intrique me.
