It is amazing how much time you can waste/I mean how many hours of fun you can have just fiddling with these lathes. What started out to be a toolpost upgrade, ended up consuming my entire weekend.I pulled the saddle/ cross slide/ compound off and apart.Cleaned it good, slicked up the ways and edges with some 400 wetordry.Oiled and adjusted it .Pulled the chuck and cleaned it real good.Made and installed a carriage gear chip gaurd.Made and installed a H-D tailstock clamp plate with 1/2 bolt.Beveled the front of the plate so it goes on real easy. Also installed a task light.
