anybody know the OD of VN 12, 16, and 22 spindles?

Which do you want?
Exactly what are you looking for?
And how accurate a reading do you need? Will a hand mic be close enough?

Well, if you have both, maybe... both spindle readings. A hand mic would be fine. Iam thinking about trying to design a ring light that will clamp around the outside of the VN spindles , so hundreds of an inch should work.. Not sure if the VN 12 and VN 16 are the same OD. Would like to make one that could be a universal fit to both machines...
