Vintage Motorcycle Reproduction Hub

Is this the thread you mention in your sarcastic complaint?

What size should the axle be?
What is the question you want answered?
Prior to using remarks as you have, please ask a direct question with a bit more info on your intentions.

it's a made from scratch hub.
it takes a 18 x 2.125 36 spoke rim.

flanges will have 36 little holes in them.

flanges for spokes just go on hub tube like
45 records going on record spindle.
then they get welded on.
this is a simple project.

can i make it in 3 pieces?
tube and a cap on each end?
caps about 3/8" thick.
i kind of remember they weld it on the lathe to keep it true.

shelly

this project was marked case solved and filed away!:)

i did leave out the updates in between.

saw the machinist, described what i wanted to make and

made one little drawing for him.

he's ready to make it when i'm ready.

i don't know if i'll bring up the lacing distorting the

bearing bore.

he might start yelling at me!:)

have a nice day!

hobby machinist's

this thread is still open.

the project had been shelved after basically

figuring out it was doable.

i want to be able to make a replica of

1920's or 1950's motorcycle.

the powertrain will be lawnmower engine,

jackshaft and rear sprocket.

have a nice day!
