I inherited a bunch of Erickson da180 collets and some collet chucks with no markings. There is a 1 1/2 in hex nut to hold the collet. The nut of one chuck has some markings, but they have disfigured by peening and the use of a pipe wrench to tighten and remove that nut.
All dimensions are in inches and are approximate.
minor od: 0.950
major od: 1.430
length of taper: 1.565
overall length with nut: 3.21
overall length with collet installed with nut ~ 4.75
The only threaded part is where the nut attaches. There is one keyway on the taper, and no obvious way to hold the chuck in a spindle. There are no slots to engage drive lugs.
I would like to know what taper the chuck is and if these are useful for milling, lathe or ?

Thank you

It has been more than 30 years since I saw one, but I believe that collet chuck fits a Moog Hydrapoint.

Certainly looks like a match with some listed on the internet. Thank you!
Do you know what holds the collet chuck in the spindle?

The end of the drawbar expanded inside the recess in the top of the toolholder. I believe the drawbar was pulled upward by springs. Moog had an automatic tool changer, but I am not really familiar with its workings.

Thank you.
Oddly, the interior hole on some is ~ 0.20, while other are ~ 0.330 in.
Thank you, again.
